The Summer King preview at Carnegie Museum of Art

Celebrate the upcoming world premiere of The Summer King - The Josh Gibson Story, with Pittsburgh Opera, the Josh Gibson Foundation, and Carnegie Museum of Art's Teenie Harris Archive.

This fabulous evening will feature:

  • Cast members from The Summer King singing selections from the opera
  • Sean Gibson, Executive Director of the Josh Gibson Foundation, sharing stories of his great-grandfather Josh's career in Negro League Baseball 
  • Pittsburgh Opera General Director Christopher Hahn discussing the development of The Summer King and its April 29th Pittsburgh Opera world premiere
  • The Teenie Harris Archive highlighting Harris's work during Gibson's lifetime.

Tickets are $25 and include two drinks plus tasty bites from the amazing Café Carnegie.
