Pittsburgh Opera in collaboration with Classical WQED-FM 89.3 and wqed.org/fm will broadcast the 2025–26 season productions, giving listeners an opportunity to enjoy the operas all over again. The broadcasts are at 1:00 PM, unless otherwise noted, on five consecutive Saturdays from September 12th through October 10th, 2026.
Fellow Travelers is a 1950s-set opera following the passionate yet forbidden romance between naive journalist Timothy Laughlin and State Department official Hawkins Fuller during the height of the Lavender Scare. As McCarthy-era paranoia and government surveillance intensify, the couple struggles against a toxic political climate that threatens to destroy their careers, love, and loyalty to one another.
