Update as of November 9th: All guests will need to be fully vaccinated with a vaccine that has been authorized by the World Health Organization and must show proof of vaccination at their time of entry into the venue with their valid ticket.
Prior to this November 9th update, the list of acceptable vaccines was limited to the Moderna, Pfizer, or Johnson & Johnson vaccines. That list has now been expanded to include all vaccines authorized by the World Health Organization, e.g. AstraZeneca.
Please plan to prove vaccination status by bringing either your vaccination card or a photo of your card on your smartphone. You will also need a current photo ID and valid ticket. Please see the proof of vaccination and ID requirements below for further information.
Masks are required to be worn by everyone over the age of two (2) for the duration of their visit inside a Cultural Trust venue.
Proof of Vaccination and ID entry requirements
Proof of vaccination must come directly from the healthcare provider that performed the vaccination. Guests may display proof on a smartphone or present a physical copy. Use of a Digital Vaccination Passport App is also acceptable.
While guests under the age of 12 cannot be fully vaccinated at this time, they must be tested and accompanied by an adult who meets our venue’s vaccination requirements. Guests who need reasonable accommodations due to a medical exception or a sincerely held religious belief must also be tested.
For guests who are not able to be vaccinated for one of the reasons listed above, they must provide one of the following instead of evidence of vaccination.
- negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours of the performance start time, or
- negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time
COVID-19 tests must be administered by an official testing center. Self-administered tests will not be accepted.
“Fully vaccinated” means on the day of the performance date as shown on the valid ticket, a guest has received their second dose of a two-dose vaccine, or their single dose of a single-dose vaccine, at least 14 days prior.
Together with the proof of vaccination, all guests 18 years or older must also present a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport. Guests younger than 18 may use a government-issued photo ID or school photo ID. Guests under 12 must be tested and accompanied by an adult who meets the above requirements.
Approved Face Coverings
Approved facial protective coverings include masks which are constructed of cloth, tightly-woven fabrics, such as cotton and cotton blends, and must contain two or three layers of fabric. Surgical masks, KN95 masks, and NIOSH-approved N95 respirators are approved facial protective coverings.
Gaiters, bandanas, ski masks, scarves, face shields, or vented masks, etc. are not approved facial protective coverings.
Guest Entry Practices
If you have tickets at will call, you can visit the Box Office at Theater Square.
Prior to entry, all guests and permissible items may be subject to physical screening and inspection. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has updated all screening technology to EVOLV systems, which most notably provides comprehensive, contactless screening machines through which guests can seamlessly walk through with their bags, coats, and permissible items.
You can find a list of prohibited items at TrustArts.org/Welcome. Some of the most common include: weapons of any kind, bags larger than 16x16x8, outside food and beverages except water bottles, and laptop computers.
In Theater Refreshments
While masks are in use, food and beverage service has been suspended in Cultural Trust venues. No food or beverage will be available for purchase inside, with the exception of water bottles. Guests may also bring a water bottle into any Cultural Trust venue.
Parking, Transportation, and Road Closures
The intersection of 7th Street and Penn Avenue will be closed for renovation beginning November 1 and is scheduled to remain closed to vehicular traffic through November 29.
Please allow extra time for potential delays due to the road closure. At this time, guest drop-off access to both the Benedum Center and Greer Cabaret Theater will be limited. If you are taking public transportation, visit the Port Authority’s website to learn about any route changes.
Access will be granted to guests parking in Theater Square Garage (GPS Address: 120 7th Street Pittsburgh, PA 15222). Please plan to approach the garage from Fort Duquesne Boulevard.
