A Special Campaign to Name Pittsburgh Opera’s Rehearsal Hall
At the conclusion of the 2025–26 Season, Pittsburgh Opera will bid a fond farewell to General Director, Christopher Hahn, who will retire after 26 remarkable years.
Christopher has shaped Pittsburgh Opera into the vibrant, innovative, and sought-after company it is today. Under his leadership, Pittsburgh Opera has earned national acclaim for producing thought-provoking opera, nurturing the next generation of artists, and expanding access to opera for audiences of all ages. His legacy is one of vision, artistry, and community.
To honor Christopher’s extraordinary service, we are embarking on a special $500,000 fundraising initiative to name Pittsburgh Opera’s Rehearsal Hall in his honor.
Together, let us celebrate Christopher’s extraordinary legacy while investing in the future of Pittsburgh Opera. Download our pledge form here.
Why the Rehearsal Hall?
In the Rehearsal Hall, inspiration becomes reality. It is the heartbeat of our headquarters at the Bitz Opera Factory: a place where singers, musicians, and creative teams prepare for every performance. By dedicating this vital space to Christopher, we celebrate the countless hours of artistry and collaboration that define his tenure and secure his enduring presence at the center of Pittsburgh Opera.
Join Us
We invite you to be part of this unique opportunity to celebrate Christopher’s legacy and honor a leader who has shaped Pittsburgh Opera and enriched our city’s cultural life. Your gift will permanently link Christopher’s name — and yours — to the space where music takes shape, creating a lasting tribute recognized by generations of artists and audiences to come.
Special Tribute Book for Christopher Hahn
As part of this campaign, we are creating a special tribute book for Christopher that will include photos, stories, and memories spanning his 26 years at Pittsburgh Opera. All campaign donors will be recognized in this book, which will be presented to Christopher at the Rehearsal Hall Naming Reception in late spring 2026. Donors will also receive a digital copy of the tribute book.
For more information or to make your gift, please contact: Rachel Kisic, Director of Development at (412) 281-0912 Ext. 226.
