Dana Kinney (Stage Director)

Dana Kinney is a second-year Pittsburgh Opera Resident Artist in 2025-26. Last season, she Assistant Stage Directed Tosca, Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci, Armida, Madama Butterfly, and Woman with Eyes Closed.  This season, she will Stage Direct Curlew River and Assistant Stage Direct La Bohème, Fellow Travelers, Time to Act, and Falstaff. 

Dana is a multi-faceted artist working as an opera director, actor, and singer in New York City. She is recognized as “a consummate storyteller with a warm and clear tone.”

Ms. Kinney’s directing career, coinciding with performance, began as an apprentice artist with Opera Fort Collins where she assisted her mentor, Brian Clay Luedloff, in over ten productions. Since then, she’s returned to the company to direct Amahl and the Night Visitors, Daughter of the Regiment and Thunder of Horses.
