Leave your Legacy at Pittsburgh Opera and become a permanent member of the Monteverdi Society.
The Monteverdi Society recognizes opera lovers who have deepened their commitment to Pittsburgh Opera and invested in its future by providing a legacy gift of any size in their estate plans.

Simple ways to leave your legacy
- By naming Pittsburgh Opera as a beneficiary in your will for a specific amount or percentage you leave a lasting legacy which will be remembered while lessening the burden of taxes on your family.
- By making Pittsburgh Opera a beneficiary of your IRA, life insurance, retirement, bank or investment account, you leave a lasting legacy which will be remembered while reducing taxes that might otherwise consume these assets for your heirs. Secure a beneficiary form from your provider and make Pittsburgh Opera a or the beneficiary for a stated amount or percentage.
Inform Pittsburgh Opera of your legacy gift plan by completing the Legacy Gift Form and sending it to Pittsburgh Opera, 2425 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or by email. Your name will be permanently entered in the Monteverdi Society.

You can also make a legacy gift to Pittsburgh Opera with one of these planned gift options that provide lifetime payments for you, your spouse, or family:
Charitable Gift Annuity
Charitable Gift Annuity [CGA]*
Transfer a minimum of $20,000 to a CGA and receive fixed lifetime payments (based on age and number of annuitants) with the remainder designated to Pittsburgh Opera.
*With the 2022 Secure Act, if you are 70 ½ or over, you can rollover up to $53,000 in 2025 to fund a Charitable Gift Annuity tax free. Lifetime payments will be taxed as ordinary income.
Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust
Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust
Transfer cash, stock, or property to fund a trust will provide fixed lifetime income or for a term of years to you and your spouse or family with the remainder designated to Pittsburgh Opera.
Charitable Remainder Unit Trust

Same as above with lifetime income calculated on annual market value of trust.
Charitable Lead Trust
Charitable Lead Trust
Holds assets in your lifetime or for a term of years during which it provides income for Pittsburgh Opera while significantly reducing your tax costs for transferring assets, plus any additional growth, to the next generation.
